An EMBER TO REMEMBER: Hope
Possessing a consistent spirit of expectation must be a way of life. As trends constantly change, new ideas, technology, and ways of thinking emerge each decade – one must remain in the spirit of expectation to shift with such dynamics.
Though some may impose expectation as the breeding grounds for disappointment, history teaches us an ounce of hope has led many to move forward from significant setbacks within a forever changing culture. Maintaining a mind and heart of expectation through hope allows one to believe a better outcome will arrive.
Hope serves as the basis for expectation. Like faith, hope is a tiny seed that must be carefully nurtured to grow for one to believe consistently. For our personal lives and that which surrounds and influences us (locally and globally) – maintaining an expected hope must be a way of life. As there will always be evidence of doom and gloom, expectation through hope serves as a shield.
Expectation vs. Reality
Expectations do not invalidate the reality of things. They coexist together. Situations and circumstances are not always ideal, perfect, or go as planned—and they never will. It's okay to acknowledge the current state of things or circumstances. However, the purpose of expectation through hope is the basis for a person not to become stagnant in such a state. To not let the reality of a thing breed hopelessness.
Historically, individuals always arose with great expectations to shift belief systems, innovate new beneficial resources, challenge ways of thinking, or be a guide to serve others even if they were not a part of the full outcome.
Although frustration and disappointment may come when possessing a spirit of expectation through hope, a heart posture for a better outcome can prevent one from staying in one's current state (one day at a time).
Despite our current environment, circumstances, or experiences, expectation through hope is the beginning of forward movement.
Forward Movement | It Might Not Be What We Expect
Expectation is not a state of denial of one's current state or surroundings. It's not a form of delusional thinking, although, to some, it may be. It's not a form of passivity but, again, serves as the basis for hope that a better outcome will arrive.
One friendly reminder regarding expectations is not to place "too" much on men (male or female). Men (all of us) can be fickle, frail, fearful, selfish, blind, or lack understanding of certain things. Such disappointment will always come because no one was created to be our complete source in life.
Despite hundreds of religious beliefs, ideologies, and philosophies, those who believe and follow the biblical texts understand God always has a plan to bring hope and a future—an expected end.
As life challenges come and the world continues to shift, an expectation through hope is the premise to help us move forward.
An expectation through hope is the belief that greater things will come.
